To those who are called..

As I was sitting in church this morning the words "God does not call the qualified, he qualifies the called" were spoken during the communion service.

Just chew on that.

The common occurrence these days is us going to God and telling him where to place us because of the various gifts that we possess. *claps once* Does that even sound right? No.
You probably even laughed while reading that. I know I did. It sounds utterly ridiculous. But it's true. We feel like we've been in church so long that we know what's best for us. That we know what and where we've been called to. Remember "God does not call the qualified" so don't fall into that trap.

"He qualifies the called." Plain and simple right? God will call you to a certain ministry. It might not even be the one you thought you were called to. It might not be something you're exceptionally good at. Don't worry. God's got you. He will enable you to carry out that work. After all it says very clearly in Philippians 1:6 "being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.". 

And if that's not assurance, I don't know what is.
