Meet the bloggers ft Esther

Hey party people! Happy hump day :D

I'm so excited for this series, can you tell? Lol. My first blogger is quite something. I was super excited when I first found out that she was blogging an quickly jumped on board. Funny thing is she tells me that she was following me first *blushes*. She's very sweet, very gentle and very loveable. Enough about what I think about her though, that's not the point of this. This is a sneak peak into the face behind Esther A Katongo. 

I sent her a few questions that I thought everyone (myself included) would like answered. Enjoy :)

Could you give me a brief introduction of yourself?

My name is Esther Katonga. I'm a newbie blogger and an Economics university graduate. I love God, writing, photography and I love love.

What inspired you to go into blogging?

I had a lot going on in my life and my heart
 was overwhelmed so I found comfort in writing. The more I wrote the more I realised I can use that gift of creative expression to help other people who might be experiencing similar challenges.

How did you pick your blogging platform?

I don't remember how I came across WordPress but when I started using it I realised the interface was user friendly and it had the minimalist themes I was looking for. So basically I had a picture of what I want my blog to look like and WordPress had the perfect canvas.

What's your blog mainly about and why did you decide to write about that?

My blog is mainly about life. I blog about natural hair as well. I looked for the two things I felt I knew a lot about and could easily speak on. After 2 decades of living I know a bit about life. I blog about natural hair because there aren't many platforms in Zambia where women and men can get practical hair advice.

Who is your target audience?

I would say my target audience is mainly women and girls but I write with an open mind so my words have a versatile impact. I just feel it's easier for me to target a group I can easily relate to.

What is it like being a Christian blogger and what ways does that affect your posts (if any)?

It has it virtues and vices. It's hard because being a Christian people are over analyzing my every move and critiquing my words more harshly. I have to censor myself a bit more. But it's good because it's helped me be consistent! I see the bigger picture and understand that Purpose drives my blogs.

Which bloggers do you have on your reading list and if you could meet one of them who would it be?

I'm following you for starters. Most Zambian lifestyles bloggers. Chanel Boateng, The Kink and I, Garance Dore, My Style Pantry, The Writing Wolf and Zanita. I think Zanita is amazing, I love her spirit. She also has really good blogging advice.

Any words of inspiration for the readers?

Every single person has a purpose. Even if your past isn't rosy or your future seems bleak, you will find fulfillment in living within your dreams. If you're scared thats okay, use that fear to drive you, push you, motivate you. Most times what we think is fear is purpose trying to wake us up! Love yourself because God loves you😊.
