Thinking out loud : Med School editon

Here's a few things I've learnt from my first year in Med school:

❤ Life doesn't have to be perfect. Sometimes you're allowed to wrap yourself in a blanket (like a burrito) and watch *insert preferred sad movie* till you shed a tear. 😢

❤ Smiling even when you don't feel like it is a guaranteed way to make you happier😄

❤ When on holiday in Med (or any) School, have as much fun as you can, but also do as much work as you can. You'll thank yourself during the semester.📑

❤ During the semester, read up on lectures as and after they're taught. Actively learn. Store in long term memory. It makes for easier, quicker and less stressful revision.📚

❤Calling people difficult terms you've learnt or in a sentence will definitely help you learn them.😂

❤ If you think it's not important, study it anyway. It'll be in your test/exam.

❤ Don't study just for your exam. Study for that moment when someone's life will be in your hands.💊

❤Study groups that push you will help you do better. That said, don't be the unprepared one in your group.😒

❤ Studying smart >>> studying hard.👓

❤Organization (or even just the illusion of it) is key.🔑

❤ Meal prepping is the best thing since sliced vegetables. Don't believe me? Try it. You're welcome😉

❤Eating healthy not only keeps your body happy, but your brain too.🍎

❤A little exercise won't kill you. And the endorphins are definitely worth it.💃

❤Remember: coffee is a short term solution. ☕

❤Touching base will help you keep sane.😅

❤Don't feel too much at home though, you need to be able to get up and go when needed.👣

❤Finally, whenever you think you can't do it anymore remember that you are being prepared for greatness. And greatness takes work.💪
